Battery Monitoring With Remote Access

  • Telecom Cell Sites
  • Power Ditribution Substations
  • Railway Signalling Systems
  • The EMS430 Battery Supervisor is a din mounted module which monitors the performance of 12, 24 or -48 volt batteries.
  • Battery current, voltage and state of charge are monitored.
  • Battery ambient temperature can be monitored.
  • An isolated RS485 link is provided for linking to supervisory equipment

  • Accurately measures incoming and outgoing battery current
  • Accurately measures battery voltages for 12, 24 or -48 volt DC systems.
  • Provides energy in versus energy out (Amp Hours) for each charge/discharge cycle.
  • Provides an output for charger disconnect on high battery volts alarm, giving protection against overcharging in the event of charger malfunction
  • Provides an output for controlling an EMS350 (or similar) controlled generator-based charger based on low battery volts or low residual battery energy. This can be used to minimise deep battery cycling and consequent battery stress.
  • Maintains a history of the previous discharge and charge cycle information at intervals of 1 minute.
  • Provides connection capability to single wire bus temperature monitors (EMS410) for monitoring battery room temperatures and assisting in the detection of overheating battery cells.
  • Provides addressable isolated RS485 connectivity for connection to a multi-node Modbus network

  • Interfaces to the EMS420 site supervisor for local status display and setup.
  • Together with the EMS420 it can be remotely monitored and polled for logged performance data using PowerConfig, PowerLink or PowerLink Lite monitoring software.
